Candles & Cocktails: Lakeshore

Is it Friday yet?! Just for fun, we’ve teamed up with cocktail genius and all-around great sister Whitney Calvert (@whitneykcalvert) to come up with come cocktail pairings for our summer candles! First up: Lakeshore and a traditional Arnold Palmer! (And if you read all the way to the end, there's a discount code!)

Equal parts sun tea and homemade lemonade

For Sun Tea
Add 8 tea bags to a gallon glass pitcher.

Fill with water and place in the sun for 3-5 hours. Once ready, place in refrigerator and enjoy!

For Homemade Lemonade
3/4 cup simple syrup (feel free to add more or less depending on how sweet you prefer, I like it a little more tart)
1 cup fresh lemon juice
3 cups water

Whitney says: When Kyle and Amanda describe this scent, it has notes of tall grass waving in the breeze and the dock where you learned how to swim, this just made me think of summers at home as a kid. Our mother loved sun tea and I can remember a colorful pitcher warming in the sun on the railing of the deck. I wanted to do an easy, refreshing, non-alcoholic drink the entire family could enjoy. Add some booze if you want...I think a fruity vodka would be delicious!

If you weren't sure that Whitney loves cocktails and spirits, her beautiful pup in this photo is named Whiskey! She's worked in bars and restaurants for over a decade, and currently manages a bar in Peoria, IL. Her real love for cocktails started when she moved to London and has continued throughout her travels, including a brief stint in Australia! She says, "Whenever I am visiting a new city, I love to check out great local bars and restaurants! Kyle & Amanda have shown me many unique places in Bloomington that are always worth a visit. Their candles have inspired me to introduce you to some easy drink to make at home!"
